Journey to Overcome Bullying to Finish School.

Bullying is a form of an aggressive act where by an individual (a person) or group of persons gang up together to harm another person all the time. When someone is being bullied one seem to think a lot, having so much thought in their head, having thoughts like if they should drop out of school to avoid the bullies.

One could get bullied because of these things:

  1. It could be because of how you walk.
  2. It could be how you talk.
  3. It could be how you dress.
  4. It could be how you carry yourself.
  5. It could be how you eat.
  6. It could be about your family background.
  7. It could even be your appearance (face, nose, head, ear, leg, eyes etc…)

If you get to find out the bullying is cause of how you walk, talk, dress, and eat you have to work on it  

For one to overcome being bullied and still finish school:

To overcome bulling can be very challenging and it is an emotional journey that you ought to overcome and you have to be strong.

  1. You should always find someone to confide in about the bullying issue, it can be your mum, dad, sibling, uncle, aunty, cousin, grand ma, grand pa or even your close friends. They will always be there to listen, believe you and offer you the best care and emotional support you can get from them and they will want to go extra miles to ensure you are safe.
  2. You should always keep a record of bullying incidents that occurs to you including the date, time, how it occurred even the bullies name and where they live if you know.
  3. Remind yourself why you started school in the first place which is to learn, grow and achieve your dream. You should even set small achievable goals and celebrate your success no matter how little.
  4. It is always advisable you have a good counselor not just a good one though but a counselor who specializes in bullying cases, to help you develop good strategies you could act on how to build self-esteem and make the make the bullies change their aggressive act towards you each time they glance at you.
  5. You should as well take good care of your physical and mental health by doing exercise regularly, eating well (both good meal, vegetables and fruits) and always get enough rest to avoid being tired.
  6. You should spend enough time with supportive friends.
  7. You should join clubs and extracurricular activities like games and sport.
  8. Ensure you engage in hobbies that brings you joy, like reading novels or story books, watching movies (horror, TV shows, romance, action etc.)
  9. You could place a mini camera where you know the bullies might come to attack you. It can be a body camera which you can place on your body so the bullies won’t notice. Then you take the body camera that captured everything as evidence to the school authority.

10)       You can take a recording device or even make use of your phone if you have one to record the voices of the bullies.
